- Halo 3 Beta Program announced
In conjunction with a new trailer coming Monday December 4th, Microsoft today unveiled further details and an official call to entry for the “Halo 3” beta program. Beginning Monday, Dec. 4, by visiting http://www.halo3.com, gamers in North America will be able to register for the opportunity to be one of the select members to join the unprecedented “Halo 3” public beta program, scheduled to kick off in spring 2007. Today’s announcement confirms the first path of entry for gamers to participate in the beta program and be among the first to experience the most anticipated game of 2007.

  - Halo 3 Ad
The 60-second Halo 3 Ad will air in North America during ESPN® Monday Night Football on the 4th December. An HD 720p version will be made available on Xbox Live Marketplace soon after for those folks with no access to cable TV. It'll be CG created by Hollywood FX house, Digital Domain, using assets supplied by Bungie.

  - Trouble at Sony
In a shock move, the PlayStation godfather, Ken Kutaragi, has been eased out of his position as president of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) and will be replaced by Kaz Hirai, the head of SCEI's US division.
Kutaragi loses day-to-to control of the division responsible for the PlayStation lineup, instead becoming chairman and group CEO. The move is likely to be seen as connected to the PS3 launch delays and poor PlayStation Portable (PSP) sales.

I scanned through it quickly and it's basically a kinda skimpy walkthrough of the 5 single player chapters + a few weapon tips - it does however mention 'cogtags' a ton of times. I'm not gonna read it in detail until I finish all the chapters on 'casual' at least. I'm guessing that there will be better ones available soon from IGN which give more on multiplayer etc.
